My one weekend away, I took a bus to Mui Ne. All I can say is that this is waay better than Phuket since Mui Ne is still not overwhelmed with tourists and the hawkers on the beach don't hassle you at all. There was a good range of resorts on the beach and the coach from Sinh Cafe was cheap and convenient. My only regret is that I only stayed 2 days.
Woohoo! Public holiday tomorrow (or today since it's after midnight), then I took the day off Friday. Office is closed Monday for Christmas Eve and then closed again for Christmas means a 6 day weekend! Wheeeee!
Yay, finally booked my tickets to Australia. Due to the ever soaring Aussie dollar, this needs to be a cheap holiday. Really cheap. I'm going budget all the way, Tiger Airways from Singapore to Perth and from Melbourne to Singapore then Virginblue from Perth to Melbourne in between. Total was almost $400 less than what Qantas was asking so it's worth a try. I've never taken such a long flight on a budget airline before (the Melbourne - Singapore flight stops over in Darwin) so keeping my fingers crossed it won't be too uncomfortable.
Pity I can't go til end of November, wish I could spare the time to get away in Sept since I really do need a break.
